    The Guide

How To Plan Your Solar Roof Layout? A Complete Guide

Most People Work Out Their Solar System From Their Bill And Forget To Ask The Obvious Question — Will It Actually Fit On The Roof? Water Tanks, Stair Rooms, Parapet Walls And AC Units All Eat Into The Space, And Tilted Rows Need A Gap Between Them So They Don't Shade Each Other In Winter. Your Roof Layout Decides How Many Panels Really Fit, Which Structure Works Best, And The Largest System Your Roof Can Hold. Plan It Right And You Avoid Surprises On Installation Day. This Guide Walks You Through Measuring Your Usable Area, Marking Obstacles, Choosing Between L2, L3, L5 Stands And Elevated Structures, And Reading Your Layout Like Our Engineers Do.

    Use The Planner Above

    Measure The Usable Area

Measure inside the parapet wall, not the full plot, and leave a walking gap at the edges.

    Mark Every Obstacle

A single water tank can cost you two or three panels, so mark tanks, stairs and AC units.

    Choose The Right Structure

L2, L3 or L5 stands suit open roofs. Elevated structures clear tanks and stair rooms.

    Leave Space Between Rows

Tilted rows need a gap so the front row doesn't shade the one behind it in winter.

    Structure Guide

Which Mounting Structure Fits Your Roof?

    01

    L2 Stand

Two panels stacked in landscape, sitting low and close to the roof. Sturdy in wind, quick to install and the most budget-friendly option for open, flat roofs.

    02

    L3 & L5 Stands

Three or five panels stacked on a taller stand. More panels per stand on a smaller footprint, but taller rows need wider gaps so they don't shade the row behind.

    03

    Elevated Structure

A raised steel frame built to your roof. Panels sit above water tanks and stair rooms, so obstacles stop costing you panels and you can still use the roof underneath.

    04

    Flush Mount

For sloped roofs, panels lie flat on the roof surface with no gaps between rows. Simple and neat, but the tilt and direction follow your roof, not the ideal angle.

    Our Dedication

Dedicated to Excellence in Smart Roof Layouts

    01

    Our Mission

At Power Energy, our mission is simple: get the most solar out of every square foot of your roof, safely. We measure the usable area, plan around every tank, stair room and parapet, choose the right structure, and space rows so no panel shades another, on every residential, commercial and agricultural project.

    02

    Our Vision

Our vision is a Pakistan where nobody is told their roof is "too small" without a proper plan. Many roofs can hold far more than people expect once obstacles are handled with the right structure. We want to show that with free tools like our roof planner and layouts drawn to scale.

    03

    Our Promise

We promise an honest layout. Before installation you see a to-scale plan showing where every panel, stand and walkway goes. If your roof can't fit the system you want, we tell you upfront and explain your options, rather than squeezing in panels that will sit in shade.

    Common Queries

Frequently Asked Questions And Trusted Answers

It depends on your usable area, the panel size, the structure and any obstacles. As a rough guide, a 585 W panel is about 7.5 × 3.7 ft, and tilted rows need a gap between them. Our roof planner lays out panels to scale for your exact roof size.

If your measurements are right, the panel count is usually very close. Our engineers still confirm the final layout on-site, because things like shading from nearby buildings, roof strength and wiring routes can't be seen in a photo.

They are standard stands that hold 2, 3 or 5 panels stacked in landscape. Taller stands fit more panels on a smaller footprint, but each row casts a longer shadow, so rows need a wider gap between them.

When your roof has a water tank, stair room or other obstacles in the way, or when you want to keep using the roof underneath. The panels sit above the obstacles, so they stop costing you space.

Each tilted row casts a shadow behind it, and the shadow is longest in winter when the sun is low. Leaving the right gap keeps every row in full sun all year, so no panel drags down the output of the others.
